Ellyn Hansen – Board Member

Ellyn Hansen brings creativity, energy, and a strong sense of community to her role with York County Kids. A marketing professional by trade, she works as an Account Executive with the Nebraska Rural Radio Association, helping local businesses grow through effective advertising and outreach. Her career path has also included cosmetology, reception, retail ownership, and sales roles, giving her a well-rounded, people-focused perspective. As a mom to two young children, Maxx and Willow, Ellyn understands families’ real challenges when finding dependable, high-quality childcare.

Her personal experience fuels her passion for YCK’s mission, where she focuses on boosting visibility and community engagement through marketing and communications. Reliable childcare is essential — it supports working families, strengthens the local workforce, and contributes to a healthy economy. As a parent and a professional, I see the difference it makes daily. That’s why I’m proud to support York County Kids and help amplify its mission throughout the community.

Ellyn’s commitment to York County runs deep. She serves on the Executive Board of the York County Development Corporation, the City of York’s Board of Adjustment, and the Leadership York planning committee. She’s also the founder of the “Moms of York NE” Facebook group, a digital space created to help connect moms during the pandemic, now with over 900 members. Outside of work, Ellyn enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, attending concerts, camping, and cheering on Husker football and baseball. She’s a fan of comedy movies, classic rock, and a good autobiography, and she’s always up for a project that helps bring people together.
