Angela Batterton – Board Member
Angela Batterton brings deep knowledge, firsthand experience, and a heart for early childhood to her role on the York County Kids Board of Directors. She currently serves as the Child Care Partnership (CCP) Coach for York Public Schools/Sixpence, where she mentors and supports local childcare providers in strengthening the quality of care they offer to the youngest members of the community.

Angela’s career in early childhood education spans a wide range of roles, including in-home childcare provider, preschool teacher, center director, family advocate, and home visitor. She is deeply passionate about early childhood development, family engagement, and making high-quality, affordable childcare accessible across York County.

Over the years, she has guided both families and providers through the Nebraska Step Up to Quality program—earning a Step 4 rating herself—and continues to champion professional development and quality improvement at every level. She’s also currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK), furthering her commitment to lifelong learning and leadership in the field.

Supporting young children and the adults who care for them isn’t just a career for me—it’s a calling. York County Kids gives me the chance to help families thrive and to ensure our providers feel seen, supported, and successful.

Angela brings both personal and professional insight to the table. She and her husband Adam live in York, where they’re raising four children—Alivia, Avery, Aaron, and Allison—who keep them happily on the go. Whether it’s Girl Scouts, dance, softball, baseball, or basketball, Angela finds joy in showing up for her kids and staying involved in all their activities.

Her work with YCK reflects her belief that strong communities are built by investing in families early, supporting childcare professionals, and working together to create opportunities where all children can thrive.
